Screen Resolution - VGA vs. Super VGA

The Survey Respondent program is designed to run "Full Screen" on a VGA display resolution of 640 x 480. This is the recommended resolution when the respondent is answering the survey at the computer. By having the Survey Respondent program use the entire screen, "clutter" from other applications is eliminated. It allows the respondent to focus on the survey screen. This is also beneficial for kiosk systems where a touch screen is being used. Command buttons and answer selection buttons are sufficiently sized to allow easy selection using the respondents fingers as the pointing device.

A higher resolution is beneficial when performing analysis on the survey data. The Survey Analyzer program can take advantage of super VGA resolutions of 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024. These resolutions offer more screen "real estate" which allows clearer graphics and more of the textual analysis to be displayed on the screen for viewing. This is especially beneficial when displaying banner or cross table analysis. The screen resolution can be changed using the Windows Setup program in the Main program group of MS-Windows.

Color Settings

The text foreground, background and highlight colors can be set by using the Windows color setup program in the Control Panel options in the Main group. Click on the Color Palette. Select the screen element to be changed and click on the color box desired. Exit the color setup program to view the changes. Select Save Scheme to save these colors.
